The Prestige of The Prestige
Right before I watched this movie I looked up its reviews online and my eye caught a phrase (I.T.) that absolutely spoiled the movie for me. I didn't know exactly what the phrase meant because that was literally all I knew about the movie, but after the bird scene with Olivia's nephew, I knew exactly where this was going. But honestly, that small spoiler made my watch of this movie much more interesting.
The Prestige is a movie that gets better the second time you watch it. I had the rare experience of having my first watch be like the second. I was able to appreciate the small details and the foreshadowing; yet the movie still surprised me in the end even though I had been expecting the reveal for the entire movie.
Since I just watched The Odyssey a couple weeks ago, I would say that this movie is on par or even slightly better than The Odyssey in its storytelling aspect, but Odyssey definitely beats this movie in terms of the visuals as well as its premise. So I'll give them the same rating :)
